Organic Agribusiness With Deepsikha
Connecting over 25,000 farmers in Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal
Deepsikha Charitable Trust is associated with over 25,000 farmers across Purba Bardhaman and rural West Bengal. The focus is to promote sustainable organic farming by distributing natural inputs including seeds, bio-fertilizers, bio-manures, jeevamrit, and waste decomposers. Over 2,000 farmers have already completed certification for organic agriculture.
Handicrafts & Vocational Skill Development
Vocational centers empowering urban and rural youth
Deepsikha established skill training centers catering to Computer Literacy, Beautician Training, Traditional Craftsmanship, and Fashion Designing. By providing practical and theoretical mentorship, we have impacted the lives of over 800 young people, enhancing family incomes.
Women Empowerment & Self-Reliance Programs
Livelihood pools and micro-enterprises for village women
By creating skill pools in native habitations, Deepsikha enables sustainable family incomes through Stitching, Tailoring, and Goatery training, turning women into key stakeholders in family economics and rural leadership.
Oyster Mushroom Cultivation with Tribal Women
Supported by SIDBI – Swavlamban Challenge Fund
Promoting oyster mushroom cultivation with 90 marginalized and tribal women of Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal. Deepsikha supports the beneficiaries from raw inputs to setting up home cultivation units, creating sustainable market linkages and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
